In one of a Arch Linux forum,i found a thread to solve the webcam problem.

My webcam works on vlc ,the mediaplayer,but not in skype( the screen is black)
,the
video-messenger. luvcview crashes on start.amsn works with webcam, but very
slow.
Maybe it's a driver problem or it's too old in my 2.6.30.5 kernel??
My computer is a Dell Inspirion 1720 Laptop.
I hope you can help me, to resolve my problem.
