I saw the mailing list looking for any solution to make a hd-dv
camcorder (camileo from toshiba) work like a usb-cam (on hardy
heron -
Ubuntu 8.04). did not find any at this time . (i tried a quick
"modprobe uvcvideo -f id=04f2:a216
with no result)

i'm not very familiar with tweaking and looking at hardware but
