That is fine by me. As I mentioned before, I am ignorant of VMAs, and you
clearly know much more about cache effects than I do.
Given the description of my symptoms and the fact that my bogus patch
resolved them, does that suggest a definite root cause to you? Even if the
proper solution is not straightforward, I am most interested to know
exactly why the bug occurs.
I would be happy to start a thread on linux-arm-kernel. I'm afraid I won't
be able to contribute much beyond testing proposed fixes. Please let me
know if I should start it, or you'd prefer to start it yourself.
