Download xfstt, and add it to your font path (ie add unix/:7101 to your
font path in /etc/XF86Config or similar file), put some fonts in
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/ then restart X. This may or may not cause fonts
to look better in staroffice, but it certainly improves them in netscape.
