This mailing list has nothing to do with web servers (it is meant for
discussions about the X server)... there are other mailing lists and
news groups that will be able to help you much more.
If you don't know how to set up a web *server* (ie, apache running as
a httpd daemon), then my advice is: don't. If you don't know how to
do this, then beieve me you don't want to. If you really, REALLY must
do this, then read the documentation - there's a hell of a lot to know
about. That being said, it's fairly easy (in fact trivial) to get up
and running... just do (as root)...
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd start
then
lynx http://localhost
or
netscape http://localhost
You'll see the default page that redhat gives you. After that, it's a
fair bit of work to do much else without understanding exactly what
you are doing.
But if you really mean *client* then that's very different. Just
install and run netscape. It you need to set up a proxy server (ask
your ISP), then you'll need to do this while online by going through
Edit->Preferences->Advanced (click on the triangle)->Proxy
(Apologies if I've got it wrong, but it sounds like you are very new
to linux and the internet).
