Hi,
It sounds familiar. I have learned some since then.
On setup screen, select to install an instance, which will be 'db2inst1' by default.
The db2 runtime install alone does not help. You need to have the instance also
installed. Then log on as 'db2inst1' or whatever ID you opted for. Under that ID, a
bash profile script 'db2profile' is executed setting up the path and an environment
variable 'DB2INSTANCE'. Then you should be able to use db2 command processor to get
your catalog entries defined.
Good Luck,
Samy Rengasamy.

I installed the above product on my linux to connect to a db2 connection gateway
and what next?
The manual tells me to setup a connection to the gateway by using the command
line interface but here it fails already.
I am not able to issue a simple "db2" command even without any arguments. It
tells me:

SQL10007N Message "-1390" could not be retrieved. Reason code: "1".

It would be great if anybody has a good idea.

best regards,
Thomas
