You might want to find out what all you get for that $11,000.  One of the
big concerns in IT shops is support for S/390 operating systems.  With VM
and VSE that support is automatic with your monthly payment for use of the
software (the new subscription service for z/VM covers the same thing).

Some Linux vendors may be offering support for the fee that they charge.  As
far as I know they all offer a code update process, where new levels of RPMs
are automatically distributed.  Levels of defect and Q&A support may vary.
You may want to verify all of this with your vendor.
