Hi all,

Looking at this page:
http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iPod/iPod-Nano-3rd-Generation

And comparing with:
http://www.chipworks.com/uploadedFiles/CW_iPOD_%20Nov%202006.pdf

It seems that the hardware platform didn't change a lot (few updates but
not that much) which is a quite good news (we're still up to date for
quite a lot of things).

What is puzzling me is that we do not find any sign of the SST 8Mb ROM
which we were suspecting to contain the bootloader and the decryption
algorithm for the firmware.

It might be that, after one year, Apple did integrate it into one chip
and just hid it around (which mean that it's very unlikely for us to
find it and makes the iPod Nano 2G more valuable because they might be
easier to break down).

So, it's not that bad, focusing on the 2G might pay for the 3G as well
(but we really need to move on by now).

Regards
