Well, I have:
- Snapshot of the MBR and the firmware partition from an iPod bought a 
few weeks ago (Rev. 1.1.3), without any updates.
- That firmware partition stripped down to ~6MB, as I currently have it 
on my iPod
- A firmware partition image that iTunes would install on that device 
(29.8.1.3)

You can download the zipped iTunes partition image directly from apple, 
that's what this IPSW file is: 
http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPod/SBML/osx/bundles/061-3326.20070507.0Pm87/iPod_29.1.1.3.ipsw
Just rename it to .zip and extract it.
