If you would have quickly flicked through the last 5 days of mailing 
list archive, you would have seen the following message I sent on 
2007-10-01 with the subject "Re: [Linux4nano-dev] is there still hope?"

And please not respond to years-old messages which have nothing at all 
to do with your question, instead start a new thread or use an 
appropriate existing one like "[Linux4nano-dev] is there still hope?".

That's exactly what I wrote not even a week ago:

There is still hope, but not that much. Our main hope at the moment is 
injecting some code into a game for a 3g nano, dumping it's 
firmware/bootloader and hoping they used the same encryption.
I would say we are at about 2 on your scale, as we already collected a 
lot of information, but only have a rough approach at hacking it, 
nothing really achieved yet. But if we indeed manage to crack that 
encryption that way, this may jump up to about 5 in a few days.
In case you know someone having a 3g nano or a classic, that could 
probably of much help to us.
