Apology for inadequate information.
My system setup is Mandrake Linux 7. I use tn5250-0.16.0-1. in X I use the
xt5250 script which I expect to fire up the emu of choice for the software.

Most emulation packages will provide menu driven keyboard mapping. (You
didn't tell what you're ussing.)
