tn5250 is just a 5250 emulator, not a suite of AS/400 utilities as
Client Access is.  File Transfer and directory mounting are not 
related to 5250 emulation, and therefore should be a completely
separate project.

I agree that key-macros would be a very nice feature.   In fact, they
are available right now, by using the XTerm's capabilities, but aren't
very intuitive or easy to use.   

If you'd like to write a macro feature for tn5250, I'd sure be willing
to try it out!

As for mounting & file transfer, you can already do them using native
features of Linux.   NFS can be used to mount a share on the AS/400,
as can SMB.  (Though, NFS is a much better design).   FTP can be used
to transfer files.

In fact, I believe file transfer and share mounting are being phased
out of Client Access.
