I'm quite happy with Qwant (a France-based company), although if looking
for images, I still use DDG.
However, when doing so, care must be taken that the site is not just
"*fronting*" for Google, like some of the "green-funding" search sites.
Um, Qwant doesn't do their own indexing, they front Bing.
There was talk of them doing a web crawler, but I don't think that went
very far, sadly.
