You could use a USB camera with a Raspberry Pi, which is what I do.

The cost of the USB camera, a pi 3 and power supply etc. probably adds
up to about the cost of your Canada Computers camera.

When the light level drops below a certain point, it switches to IR
mode, which is quite nice.
