Solaris Operating System Support Matrix

Solaris Vintage Support, the name for Sun's non-current Solaris support
model, has been
adopted on a world wide basis as of May 1, 2000. The Solaris Vintage
Support model provides
contractual support on the Solaris release for five years from the Last

Ship date as follows:
· Sun will support contract customers for the Solaris release
(SPARC(R) and Intel Platform
Edition) for five years from the Last Ship date.

· The level of support during the first two years from the Last Ship date
will provide
contract customers full remedial support except requests for enhancements
and cosmeticbugs. Patches will be created as needed and distributed via
SunSolve[SM]. This provides
no material reduction in the level of support. However, patches will not
be rolled up into
quarterly updates.

· Thereafter, in years three through five from the Last Ship date,
contract customers will
continue to receive telephone support and access to existing patches in
SunSolve.
Solaris Vintage Support Components:
Years 1 & 2 After Last Ship Date Standard rate

· Full remedial support
· No degradation in coverage & response times
Exclusions:
· No patches for cosmetic bugs
· No requests for enhancement
· Updates including patches online only
Years 3, 4 & 5 After Last Ship Date Standard rate
· Phone support only
· No degradation in coverage & response times
· Patches limited to published patches released
onto SunSolve and remediation of bugs in such
released patches
Exclusions:
· No new patches or new bug fixes for bugs
· No patch reports and recommended clusters on
SunSolve
· No requests for enhancement
· Updates including existing patches online only

* LS Date = Last Ship date. The LS Date is the trigger date for Solaris
Vintage Support. Prior to
Solaris 2.5.1 the Last Order Date had been used as the non-current Solaris
support trigger date.
The dates listed under LS Date for releases prior to Solaris 2.5.1 are
actually their Last Order
date. These dates will remain their Solaris Vintage Support trigger dates
to ensure consistency
with previously published non-current Solaris support documentation. LS
dates will be utilized for
all future Solaris releases beginning with Solaris 2.5.1.
** The Solaris 2.5 dates were adjusted to the original dates. Before
10/23/01 the document
showed erroneously the same LS date (and derived dates) as Solaris 2.5.1.
Note: The Premium Option was terminated by 04/25/2002.
