currently ripping my girifriend's entire CD collection to FLAC
format and, naturally, she wants to be able to take some significant
subset of that with her on her travels. i'm ripping to FLAC as i want
to, at some point, set up an in-home (linux-based) music server and,
from FLAC, i can always downgrade to a lossy format if necessary.

in any event, from FLAC, i can always encode to MP3 if necessary, so
i'm looking for an inexpensive, entry-level music player, something
along these lines:

https://www.amazon.com/Black-Resolution-Music-Player-Generation/dp/B0743CYBH2/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1517865926&sr=8-7&keywords=Fiio+X7+Mark+II

but not even that sophisticated. is there something in the $100 range
that would be a good starter music player that i can buy off the shelf
in ottawa?
