You might want to check the list FAQ as well as ESR's guide "How to ask questions the smart way". That said, the first thing I would check is the IP routing table. Does it get updated properly when the broadband connection is unavailable and you are on dialup instead? Failing that, you may want to look into adjusting any firewall rulesets you have set up.
