I don't run Redhat anymore but I think I remember something like:
setup
I think I had to login as root to run it.
Maybe I did Ctrl Alt F5 then logged in as root to be able to run setup.
If I remember correctly I was then able to set the mouse and more.
I don't remember about the keyboard.
What I do in Slackware which I use; is to login as root and then run either:
xorgconfig
or
xf86config.
It depends on which Xwindows server you have in use.
