After a lot of trouble, I thought I'd finally managed to get WINE
installed correctly on my system. Alas, it was not to be; after many
different attempts via both RPM packages and compiling from source, I
obviously got the whole machine very confused. When I did a "winecfg"
I got the following back:

wine_main_preload_info not found
wine client error:9: version mismatch 176/131.
Your wine binary was not upgraded correctly,
or you have an older one somewhere in your PATH.
Or maybe the wrong wineserver is still running?

I would like to get this working, hopefully NOT by uninstalling and
starting all over again--I'm not so confident that I would really
successfully uninstall and I might come up with the same problem again.

Any other ideas on how to get this fixed up the right way? Thanks
