Are you familiar with vi?

If editing it with vi, you get readonly file, use ! to override or
something like that, and can save it with w!.  

However, if you're not familiar with vi that could be dangerous.

Also, you will need to be root or have root privilege to edit
sources.list.


If you were logged on as normal user, do an su in a terminal window,
then, in that same window try 

kwrite /etc/apt/sources.list

Or hope that ed is on this list as he's the Debian Meister and gives you
a better answer.   :)
