stuffing about with a dual boot setup can be messy and in some way
frustrating to do some things (like working in both windows and linux
simultaneously).

My planned setup for when I get my new box assembled:

Good new computer: [some multi gigahertz rating] Windows (whatever version I
get) rigged to do mostly games and a buch of random stuff, possibly running
a raid array for document files (which would get synchronized with the other
box).

old/existing computer: [700MHZ] Linux (distro not yet decided) also to be
set up with a raid for personal data. managing email and more "regular"
internet things including webpage hosting, local file server etc...

(raid setup at this stage may likley be a software arrangement)

So at least I can have it arranged so that if one computer is having a heart
attack trying to load/do something complex I can still do stuff on the other
while waiting for the first machine to respond! I'd probably try to rig my
windows box to look to the linux box as it's regular data storage for
documents (kinda like remotetly stored desktop settings and stuff)

now I just gotta save up for some more computer parts.......
