Hello, I'm a user of Redhat Linux 8 & 9.

Last year I destroyed my mouse when I dropped it on the floor.
It was a classical 3 button mouse. Then I went to a PC shop near my
apartment. I found that all the 3 button mouses were replaced by the
optical ones. They were guaranteed to function on windows series such
as windows XP. I bought an optical mouse and tried it on my machine.
Unfortunately it didn't work at all. I collected the used classical 3
button mouses outside, and extracted a covering part, and fixed my
destroyed mouse. And used current mouse. Now I fear when my mouse will
be gone.

What shall I do so that I can use common optical mouses on Redhat Linux
series? For example, the optical mouse I bought is produced by
Microsoft, model 1016.

Help is needed!
