Hello group: I'm new too.
>From my experience, I have tried: Ubuntu Kubuntu SimplyMEPIS OpenSUSE Freespire DamnSmall (old laptop) FreeBSD (old laptop) As I write this, I'm writing it on Freespire, but I fear that I have recently fallen in love with PCLinuxOS. For a newby, that is newer than I am, that is where I would start. My second newby choice would be Freespire, but it does really weird things with the desktop icons upon startup. It's a known bug and I believe any self respecting OS would have already fixed it.
