OpenOffice.org just started including a Access-like database program,
though it doesn't support Access files. It's funny that you have such a
low opinion of the PowerPoint equivalent (Impress), as I've heard many
people say that it's better than PowerPoint.

Not entirely true. I run a 64 bit browser with a 64 bit Java plugin.
