I was hoping to make this a reply-to my first post, but it hasn't been
approved yet :(
Red Hat's Up2date finally decided to work after I unchecked the
channel that was 404. So, I've gotten package updates, at least. 255
of them, plus two more discovered as dependencies. Kernel as
installed by the "for Dummies" DVDROM was 2.6.9-1.667, has updated now
to 2.6.12-1.1331_FC3. (I paid attention and took notes this time!)
Firefox only updated from 0.10 to 1.0.7, so I still need to figure out
where to drop my home-directory copy of 2.0, so that it becomes the
all-users system default version.
So, now all I need to make my day complete is an rpm package for
Fedora Core 3 to install BOINC Client & manager....or a suitable
'generic' tarball and howto for installing....
