Unlike Windoze (thats not a typo!) Linux doesn't get hugely more bloated
with each new version. Anyhow what have you got to loose?, if Fc6 overloads
your old campaigner just reinstall FC3.

Thanks

Andy.

Ps. When installing FC6 choose the option to configure for office
automation / productivity (or whatever the actual wording is, I can't
remember), this will install OpenOffice - a nore or less exact equivalent
to Microsoft Office Professional.

Be warned that the first time you run FC6 the automated update manager will
probably list about 120 updates to download, make sure you do these as they
will include the latest kernel.

A good website to grab extra stuff is rpm.pbone.net. If you ever try to
install something and get an error message about missing dependancies, go
to this site and you can usually download whatever you're missing.

Useful extras to install:

Mplayer - a movie player that handles just about anything (unlike the
default Totem player that handles just about nothing).

Amule - a pretty good p2p downloader.

WINE - (Wine Is Not an Emulator) - a tool that will run just about any
Windoze application, so you can still play all those old games and odd few
bits of Windoze software that don't have Linux equivalents.
