This is a quick answer, until someone more experienced with Ubuntu
answers your post.
It should be relatively easy. There's probably something in your
multimedia menu, though not using Gnome, I'm not sure where. (That is,
there's probably a DVD player in that menu.)

Then, you may have to choose to add non-free repositories, if you didn't
do so when you first installed. Your question might be, "How do I do
that?" As I said, this is a quick answer--I don't use Ubunutu these
days, and so I am not sure how it's done with them.

A quick rant--as Ubunutu lists their number one bug as Windows being
more popular, they should probably, if legally possible, have a default
install be able to do this out of the box. MintLinux, based on Ubuntu,
does--and that is one of Mint's things, you can have flash, DVDs, etc
out of the box.

However, once you know what programs you might need, setting it up
should be very easy. You might even check the Ubuntu forums (not sure
of the URL, a quick visit to Ubunutu's main site should give it to you)
as there are probably various howtos on multimedia with it.

So, the short answer is yes, it should be quite easy. (I'm sorry for
the lack of practical info, but as I said, this is the quick answer and
hopefully, some Ubunutu user will give you a better one.)
