Right you are SimplyMEPIS 7.0 in now available! It is a Debian based distro, so it has huge repositories, but it also has MEPIS' firstrate hardware detection and administration tools. It uses KDE as its desktop. The package manager is Synaptic. I just re-installed it and it looks great. I have used this distro since it first came out and it has always been impressive. It was number 3 on distro watch early this year, but took a tumble because it switched to Ubuntu core from Debian and then has switched back to Debian. This took us all for abit of a joy ride, but I am happy to say, that it is as great as ever.
