Thanks. While I was waiting for a response I continued to search and a fried from another list put me onto the Ubuntu forums. There I discovered a thread regarding the use of an alternate iso file that would essentially allow me to walk through an install manually thus obviating the out of range problem. I was then able to install the program, but not run the live cd which was my intent. Long and short once installed it threw the out of range error back to me. I did some more research (and folks bit** about Microsoft issues) and found out how to edit the xorg.conf file. That worked. So now it's installed and working well.

I have the same problem when I try to install Fedora.
