The easiest way is to use Vista's 'Shrink Volume' tool (found under
tool in C: properties) and use the created free space for SUSE.

There are two caveats you should note:

You don't have a choice in size, the toll shrinks the volume by a set
amount and you cannot restore the size using the tool.

You will not be able to access the Vista partition automatically from
SUSE.

I have read reports of some problems using a third party partition
manager to reduce the Vista partition, however, I have used third
party managers to successfully restore the Vista partition.

Just be careful when the partition manager comes up during the Suse
install to choose the 'Use free space' option'- this is usually the
middle option (2).
