Subject: [LINUX_Newbies] vmware and lbox

I have the vmware working a little. It can't find certain files

to powerup a vm, like lbox. Exactly where should those files be put.

I had my system, and myself, quite confused trying to figure it out.

I deleted some of the confusion to get things in shape. I felt like

deleting myself:>)

I am not sure what to reply here. There is so little information to go by. I am
not sure what your host machine is or what client you are running. I am not
even sure what VMWare product you are using.

I am assuming that VMWare is working. You cannot make a virtual machine with
VMPlayer. You need to have VMServer or Worksatation. Server is free, but
Workstation costs.

To make a virtual machine you need to have a bootable OS either on disk or as
an iso file. If you are using a disk make sure that you have the CD ROM listed
in VMWare settings. The CD must be bootable. An old Windows 98 CD that came
with a floppy will not work.

If you are using an iso you need to go to the CDROM section of the settings and
click in the iso button andd then you need to point VMWare to the location of
the iso file.

An alternative to building your own VMs is to download pre-built appliances.
You can get these from the VMWare site.

That's all I can add without knowing more information.
