MEPIS is a good, solid distro based on stable Debian. It should meet the needs of most people who want stability and ease of use. In addition to its excellent tools, it has KDE and because it is Debian it has the second largest repositories.

Of all the distros I have tried, Mepis 7.0 seems to just keep working no matter how klutsy I am. When I go to get a laptop I plan to see if the Mepis cd will work on it.
