I have a 500 gig hard drive partitioned 200 200 100. When I partitioned I made the two 200 gig partitions using a Win XP CD using one partition as the C drive and the other became D. Both partitions are NTFS. I installed WindowsXP first. The remaining space was left unpartitioned and when I installed Ubuntu 8.04 I selected the option for Ubuntu to use the most available free space. I have similarly set other PCs up and all have worked fine. Having downloaded Start Up Manager for Ubuntu I can select the default operating system and length of time out.
