I'm not sure which Atheros card you have, but if it's the AR5007EG
(shown as a rule, as AR5006 or AR242x), you can give my guide a try at

A lot of the semi-official guides aren't kept up to date--as support for
that card was never really considered official, the guide on their site
isn't applicable to it.
