Craig, Most Linux distros are available as a single CD download ISO file. Please read http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/LINUX_Newbies/message/27626 as that gives a decent overview of how to burn an ISO once you have downloaded it. Ubuntu, Mint (my fave), and PCLOS are good distros to start with. Good luck and feel free to ask more questions!
