I have successfully installed Ubuntu 10.10. I did all the updates via wifi.
I have a T-Mobile USB MF691 that I use to connect to the net while on the
road. I have followed the suggestions I have found on the internet so far. I
have done the following made a file named 19d2:1201 and saved it to
/etc/usb_modeswitch.d/

this is the file:

# t-mobile ZTE MF691  Rocket 2

DefaultVendor=  0x19d2
DefaultProduct= 0x1201

TargetVendor=   0x19d2
TargetProduct=  0x1203

MessageContent="5553424392020000000000000000061B000000020000000000000000000000"

Then I added the following to /lib/udev/rules.d/40-usb_modeswitch.rules

# t-mobile ZTE MF691  Rocket 2
ATTRS{idVendor}=="19d2", ATTRS{idProduct}=="1201", RUN+="usb_modeswitch
'%b/%k'"

I edited /etc/wvdial.conf

[Dialer Defaults]
Init1 = ATZ
Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
Modem Type = USB Modem
ISDN = 0
New PPPD = yes
Phone = *99***1#
Modem = /dev/ttyACM0
Username = user
Password = pass
Baud = 460800
Stupid Mode = 1

Then I attempted to connected by typing sudo wvdial

It failed said I did not have a file named ttyACM0

Any help would be greatly appreciated it. I got all these steps from
http://www.fogel.ca/2010/10/05/t-mobile-webconnect-rocket-2-0-on-debianubuntu/

I am running this as a dual boot with Windows XP SP3 on a Panasonic
Toughbook CF-29LTSGCBM 500GB HD 1GB RAM
