as you can see direct rendering: Yes.
so what could it be?
Google Earth opens and then flickers between black picture and the gloge and
then I get the image that I posted.

Still no joy, could it be the fault of the graphics card?
I am using AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2000+
with and intergrated graphics card KM400/KN400/P4M800 [S3 UniChrome]
could this be the problem?
