Wow, I completely forgot about the lacking buttons in Gnome 3. I remember reading about their rationale for doing that in amazement. One fell swoop to turn a highly functional desktop into the equivalent of what the Windows Mobile operating system has been since 2003. I can see what they are trying to move towards, though... <SNIP> > Some applications > like Amarok will run from the system tray while others will only run > from the panel or exit. However with Alltray you can get anything to > run from the system tray. Hmm... there was mention of something about Altray. I was thinking the OP wanted to minimize to launcher or window list (i.e., show desktop). I should revise my statement to say I have no idea if LXDE/openbox has a way to drop things to a system tray. It does allow single-click minimization of all open windows to the window-list panel. And individual windows of course have the minimize button. @Jerry, it may help if you clarify a bit, whether you are trying to drop programs to a "system tray" or just "minimize" them to the botom window panel/dock w/o closing them... These two options would have very different paths to take for a resolution and would probably limit the "desktop list" you are looking for if it is the former... ------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from this list, please email [email protected] & you will be removed.Yahoo!
