I am referring to being able to dock a program to the panel or system tray without closing. I thought that was the definition of minimizing. Otherwise, why have a hypen (-) and an X on a window if they do exactly the same thing - that is close out the program completely? Some programmers make dumb decisions, in my opinion, and I can't see how taking away that functionality makes for a cleaner desktop. But thanks for the comments on which Linux desktops might do what I'm requesting. --Jerry
