Is the primary benifit of using a wireless program like nmcli instead
of ifconfig/iwconfig just a matter of not storing the network key in
plain text in your shell history?  Presumably that key is encrypted
during transfer and communication with the WAP, but oddly I didn't
have much luck finding documentation on that.  Does anybody know if
when you connect via "iwconfig wlan0 essid <name> key
s:<encryption_key> if that is transmitted unsecured over the air?  I'm
suddenly wishing I had looked into this more in the past...
