When I wrote this it would be confusing, sorry..... <<<< wi-fi card (Wireless modem or NIC Card>>> ....after about the release of Vista (Micro$oft) around 2008 - all new laptops,notebooks, and netbooks where shipping from manufacturers with these once external wireless modem cards as now built in as including software modems - no longer a peripheral (plug in wireless modem card).
