Do Jan 24 09:43:36 2013 Problem 4:Connecting hardware Good morning Thank You for help.
It depends on the desktop environment exactly how you do it. * I am using Siduction and Xubuntu. You basically have to turn on the microphone which is probably either turned off by default or muted. * Where is this. I opened Alsamixer but there a many buttons. You have to go to the mixer by right clicking on the icon for the sound in the system tray or similar then you have to go to the settings and choose Microphone and either check the box to use it if it is unchecked or slide the slider up. I don't think that you have to change ALSA. Each desktop environment uses a different front end or backend or both, so it is hard to be more definite without knowing more about your setup. * Where is the mixer? I could find a mixer for the outgoing sound. I can hear music with Vlc.
