Hi all!
I've followed the list for some time now and looked through the
archives but there are still some questions left. I've not much
knowledge when it comes to electronics but I'm very much
intersted. Anyway, here come the questions:
-What's the status of X with the K7SEM? I have X up and running now
with modules from http://www.winischhofer.net/linuxsis630.shtml. Do
you use them too?
-I'm thinking about what to use: DOC, compact flash card on ide or hdd
ide. DOC seems to be rather hard to get in my place (germany) and
seems to be rather expensive. My hdd is a 3,5'' IBM DTTA 10GB drive,
is this supported? (Someone said that the ide driver is rather
rudimentary). For CF to ide I have to get an adapter first. I'm
thinking about building it myself, seems to be rather simple.
What do you recommend/use?
-Some of you seem to use the mobo as the burner. I have no good
feeling about ripping the chip out during operation (if necessary I'll
do it though). Concering a cheap burner (thread from some time ago) :
There is a nice thing I try to build (www.loet.de/flasher.html - site
in german but some nice pics and schematics). Now my question: if I
have to rip out the bios chip while running, what's to take care of?
Straight up, pin 1 first or last...?
-Regarding substitution eeprom flash chips for the mobo, is there a
difference between brands or can you suggest one?
-Which kernel do you use right now, the last one mentioned in the mobo
section is 2.4.17. Is it possible to use 2.4.18 or maybe 2.5.x too?
