PAL is 1/2 MBYTE of object. SAL on this one platform is almost a MBYTE of
object. What a horrow show.

I have to wonder if it's not the usual hideous assembly code -- my guess
is yes. I doubt anyone at Intel has thought of your clever cache-as-ram
hack, though it was interesting to see that it is in that GPL PPC BIOS.

I think we need to find a company that will cooperate with us on this. I
just haven't found one yet. It won't be one of the Big Guys, so this will
take time.

I agree on half measures though. Long term, binary blobs are a really
terrible way to go.
