OK, absent any other comments tomorrow here's what I will do: - make the user of TIMER2 for udelay a CONFIG option CONFIG_UDELAY_TIMER2 - make my rdtsc-based udelay a CONFIG option CONFIG_UDELAY_X86RDTSC You can have one or the other on, or you can turn both off if you have some platform which can't use them. That way, you can plug in your own udelay as needed. The other delays will just use whatever udelay you have defined. That way, we preserve the flexibility which we may need. Sound OK? ron
