I'm working on the HOWTO for the SiS 630 mainboards. I've had to put a
warning message along the following lines in the HOWTO:
NOTE: BE ADVISED THAT THIS STEP CAN HURT OR KILL YOU!
YOU ARE WORKING WITH A POWERED-ON COMPUTER AT THIS POINT.
THE COMPUTER NEEDS TO BE OPENED UP, AND YOU NEED TO REMOVE A CHIP
WHILE THE COMPUTER IS ON.
IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE THIS TYPE OF WORK, DO NOT DO IT!
WE TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS AT THIS STEP.
Someone here raised the question: isn't there some way to just get DoC to
people so they don't have to worry about this kind of thing.
So, I put this question to the list: if you had a way to buy DoC for your
matsonic or winfast, that ran 2.4.0-test12, is that something you are
interested in? Would you rather buy "barebones" systems that come with
linuxbios installed?
If there is interest then I have to figure out how to make it happen ...
