on matsonic vs. winfast: I've actually booted linuxbios for matsonic on winfast, and vice-versa. It's fine. We've had some fun here the last few days, with both matsonic and winfast, which has led us to realize that you can fry these mainboards by fooling around too much. We had one mainboard just plain die, and another mainboard lose Ethernet. Very frustrating, esp. when coupled with the 2.4.0 SIS 950 ethernet problem. Three motherboards, different behaviour, we had to test with Award BIOS and our own BIOS to confirm failure, some behaviour required that you unplug things ... adventure and noble experiences await us all! Two more motherboards for our Wall of Fame. Argh. So never assume the hardware is not dead. ron
