A little odd but not a problem.

If you can boot that OS from linux with out in 16 bit BIOS calls
it sounds reasonable.

Well if we could figure out how to flash besides the intel BIOS update
utility that would be nice.

This sounds like a very reasonable target for linuxBIOS.  The code
isn't there yet.  If you want to develop this we would be happy to
support you.
