Agreed.  This I believe was pointed towards ``Legacy Free'' systems builders
so that they don't get to overzealous, and will still support linux.

There is a is still a sizeable chunk left out.

PCI-IDE,
Rebooting 
(You even need to initialize the southbridge to get a triple-fault to 
reboot the cpu.)
RTC clock initialization.
etc.

Anyone want to help me compile a list of what else linux depends
on that Alan left out?
