I have a 3c590 and a 3c900 both with 32 pin sockets.  I would test
things but I don't have a 29F040B in a DIP package.. All ours are
PLCC.  I have a DIP adapter but the pins are too large to fit into
the socket.  I will have to see about working up some sort of hack to
make the adapter fit.
